Pumpkin dumplings

This was the first time for us making dumplings. It takes some times but they taste so good that it is all worth it! This dumplings are steamed and have a crunchy bottom, that is how we like the dumplings! 



The Dumplings

Pumpkin 500 gr
Olive oil  
Garlic clove


Fresh ginger

2 cm


80 gr


1 spoon

Red pepper


Spring onion


Soy sauce
Fresh lime 1

The dough

Flour 300 gr
Salt A pinch
Boiling water 120 ml

Preparation Process

For the filling:

Peal and cut the pumpkin and remove the seeds. Place the pumpkin in an oven dish and put it in the oven for 45 minutes on 180 degrees.

When ready, let cool down.

Puree the pumpkin, garlic and broccoli. Also add ginger rasp. Season with some salt and pepper. 

Take your dough sheets and oil them with your finger. Add one spoon of the filling and fold the dough towards each other. 

Place the dumplings in a oiled pan on high fire and add 150 ml of water. Close the pan with a lit and let them steam until the water is gone. Then fry them for 2 more minutes until they have a crunchy crust. 

Serve with some lime, soy sauce and spring onion. 

For the dough;

Mix the flour and salt and slowly add the boiling water. Knead this with a kitchen machine. Divide the dough in small pieces. Roll this in between 2 sheets of baking paper until you have a thin dough round of +- 8 cm.
