Italian beef stew

This beef stew is a delicious Italian meal. We love to serve it with homemade pasta but it is also tasty when you serve it with potato puree.

The stew has lot’s of flavors and it is a perfect dish to prepare when you have a lot of guests. 



The Dough

Beef 1000 gr
Shallot 3
Carrot 2
Celery 2 sticks
Butter  3 spoons
Juniper 4
Bay leaf 3
Salt and pepper  
Red wine 150 ml
Flour 2 spoons
Vegetable stock cube 1
Meat stock cube 1
Tomato puree 3 spoons

Preparation Process

Cut the meat in pieces as well as the carrots and celery. 
Add salt and pepper on the meat.
Cut the shallots in small pieces and add this in a pan together with the butter. Add the meat to this pan and fry for a few minutes. 
Add the flour into the pan and stir well. Then add the red wine, vegetables and tomato puree. Then add both the stock cubes and fill the pan with water until the meat is just under the water. 
Let this simmer for at least 3 hours. Longer is also possible. 

Tips and variations

Serve with pasta or potato puree.
