A galette is a super easy pie that you can make with every type of fruit of veggies. This apple galette is made with apricot jam and cinnamon, a delicious combination!



The Galette

Flour 190 gr
Sugar 50 gr
Cold water 50 ml
Butter 110 gr
Salt  A pinch
Apples 2
Cinnamon/ Dutch; koek en speculaar kruiden 1 spoon
Apricot jam 2 spoons
Egg 1
Lemon juice 0.5 lemon
Almond flour 2 spoons

Preparation Process

Cut the butter in small pieces and add it in a bowl with the flour, sugar and salt. Mix this in a kitchen machine until you have a crumbly dough. Add the ice cold water and create a ball. 

Put this dough ball in some foil and place it in the refrigerator for 1 hour. 

Cut the apples in nice slices and add the cinnamon or speculaas kruiden. Mix this well and add the juice of half a lemon. Leave this in the refrigerator as well. 

Take out the dough and roll it until it is 1 cm thick. Place some almond flour in the middle and add the 2 spoons of jam on top. Then add the apples. Fold the outsides of the dough towards the inside and make sure there are now open spaces when you fold. Break the egg and add the egg on top of the dough and add a little bit of sugar on top.

Put the galette in the oven for 30 minutes on 220 degrees.

Tips and variations

The dough needs to be very cold to make sure you get a crispy galette.
