When I (Daughter) visited my Mother in law I asked to my boyfriend; What should I bake for your mother to bring with us? He mentioned; A orange pie! I never baked an orange pie before so after reading a lot of different recipes I had some good idea’s of how an orange pie could work out well. 

This pie is so lovely! It is very moist and the orange taste is super strong! A perfect pie to bring to your mother in law.. 😉

Ingredients

The orange pie (18/23 cm pie form)

Butter 200 gr
Sugar 150 gr
Eggs 4
Flour 125 gr
Almond flour 75 gr
Juice of the orange 0.5 orange
Rasp of orange zest  1 orange
Almond rasp 60 gr
Salt A pinch
Powdered sugar  
Baking powder 2 teaspoons

Preparation Process

Mix the butter and the sugar until it is light and airy. Add the eggs one by one while mixing with the kitchen machine. Add the flour, almond flour, baking powder, salt and the orange juice and rasp. Mix it all shortly. 

Oil the form and pour the mixture into the form and add the almond rasps op top. 

Put it in the oven for 50 minutes on 160 degrees. 

When you serve the cake (when cooled down) add some powdered sugar on top.

Tips and variations

If you like you can add more orange rasps or whole almonds into the mixture.
