Ultimate chocolate cake

For me (Daughter) it is chocolate or lemon tart when I can choose a dessert in a restaurant. Sometimes it is difficult to prepare a chocolate pie or cake with so many chocolate flavor. This recipe has it all! A smooth and deep chocolate cake with a delicious chocolate ganache on top! If you are addicted to chocolate, please be careful with this one..



The cake

Light brown caster sugar 300 gr
Butter  300 gr
Salt  A pinch
Eggs 6
Flour 300 gr
Baking powder 2,5 teaspoons
Cacao powder 60 gr
Milk 110 ml
Dark chocolate 100 gr

The Ganache

Cream 100 ml
Dark chocolate 100 gr
Butter 30 gr

Preparation Process

Put the caster sugar, butter (room temperature) and the salt in a bowl and mix this with a kitchen machine. Add the eggs one by one. Add the next egg when the previous one is included into the mixture. Add the flour and baking powder with a big spoon and scoop it through the mixture. 

Mix the cacao powder with the milk in a bowl and then add it to the total mixture. 

Cut the chocolate in small pieces and add it as well. 

Oil the cake form with sunflower oil and cover it with cacao powder (or in Dutch met paneermeel) 

Pour the mixture into the cake form and place it in the oven for 65 minutes on 160 degrees. 

When ready; let it cool down!

For the ganache;

Heat up the milk in a pan until it starts boiling. Take the milk from the heat and add the chocolate. Keep mixing until all the chocolate is melted. Then add the butter and mix it for a few minutes. 

Let the ganache cool down a bit and then pour it on top of the cake. 

Tips and variations

You can also add white chocolate ganache on top.
