Gnocchi alla Sorrentina

Something that is super fast to prepare and also super delicious is gnocchi! You can buy gnocchi in the supermarkets and you only need to cook them for 3 minutes! Our favorite is this classic ‘Gnocchi Alla Sorrentina’ made with our homemade tomato sauce and buffalo mozzarella. Putting this dish in the oven gives it a bit more taste, and of courseĀ  nicely melted mozzarella!

Homemade Tomato Sauce


Gnocchi (2pax)

Gnocchi di patate from ‘De Cecco’ 1x (500gr)
Homemade tomato souce recipe 1x
buffalo mozzarella 1x
Fresh basil +- 10 leaves

Preparation Process

Prepare our homemade tomato sauce according to our recipe on this website. When almost finished, boil the gnocchi for 3 minutes in boiling and salted water. The gnocchi’s are ready when they are floating in the water. Put the gnocchi into the pasta sauce and put it all in a oven dish. Place some mozzarella and fresh basil nicely over the gnocchi’s. Add some pepper on top.

Put this in the oven for 10 minutes on 220 degrees. (Or until the mozzarella is melted.)

Tips and variations

When you want to add some veggies to this dish, nice options are:

  • Some spinach into the tomato sauce
  • Add a salad on the side
